This is a pivotal role in the improvement of company performance through excellence in Contract Administration / Quantity Surveying to oversee contract performance and cost reduction for company projects in the Newcastle region.

The Role

•Full responsibility for the administration of major construction contracts in the Newcastle region from handover from the Commercial team to hand back to the Commercial team upon contract works closure.
•Plan, lead and organise each individual contract to enable the optimum profitability of the collective contracts, including meeting all obligations including progress claims and payments, scope management and variations processing.
•Work with stakeholders such as engineers, Project managers and supervisors, workers, and contractors to drive efficiencies in areas of expense such as labour costs, construction costs, and construction methods.
•You will oversee the project's financial performance to ensure that the project’s costs remain within the stipulated budget and that any claims for work are invoiced correctly and on time in accordance with the established project delivery schedule.
•Regular onsite client meetings for relationship building, project reviews and site inspections.
•Responsible for business unit compliance in the performance of assigned executed contracts.
•Provide broad commercial support to the business where needed.

The Requirements

You are an experienced Contracts Administrator/Quantity Surveyor who is familiar with both commercial and industrial construction projects preferably from working in a similar environment in scaffolding.
•You understand how to manage and execute contracts in accordance with the contracted project plan, manage and submit claims and ensure that risks associated with the contract are identified and managed.
•Financial mathematical ability
•Use of critical thinking, logic, and reasoning
•Purchasing/Contracts/Invoicing experience
•Engineering or accounting degree/Purchasing/ Procurement or solid quantity surveying experience.
•Ability to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
•Understand and negotiate appropriate risk allocations.
•Good budget management experience
•High attention to detail, whilst taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of submissions
•Valid and current driver’s licence is essential
